Well for me it goes like this:
1. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (3D)
2. Super Mario Galaxy (3D)
3. Super Mario World (2D)
4. Super Mario 64 (3D)
5. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (2D)
6. Super Mario Bros. 3 (2D)
7. Super Mario Sunshine (3D)
8. New Super Mario Bros. (2D)
9. Super Mario Land 2: The Six Golden Coins (2D)
10. Super Mario Bros. (2D)
So while I'm a huge fan of both styles, 3D Mario is unlike anything out there, especially with Galaxy 1 and 2.
