I wouldn't put anything past Nintendo at this point, especially when it comes to their handheld market. They have gotten a dose of reality, and have realized that people didn't want a new DS, especially one that costs as much as the typical home console, and with 3D. I think it is very possible that a 3DS retooling/relaunch could take place, that undermines or eliminates the 3D feature entirely and goes back to basics, and attracting the mass market again. Nintendo needs to be agressive in their handheldmarket, especially now that the Wii sales are dwindling.
