That would seem really weird. Either it wouldn't really be supported or it would make the old systems obsolete, which doesn't seem like something Nintendo would do.
Not that it wouldn't be an improvement, I can't for the life of me understand how Nintendo thought giving the 3DS only one analogue stick was a good idea, but at this point it would probably hurt the 3DS more than it would help it.
