I don't think he was complaining about the "stances" themselves but rather you can't hit enemies unless you're in a certain stance in Heavenly Sword.  In Devil May Cry there were no enemies where you had to be in gunslinger style to hit them, or trickster to hit them, the styles in Devil May Cry 3/4 just let you change your combos.  This is very different, and to be frank having to change stances to hit an enemy in Heavenly Sword really ruined the game.

Well that's what I was talking about; a stance system doesn't work in a game unless it just opens up options instead of doing "do x move against y enemy in order to beat them." That, like you said, just becomes irritating and boring, reducing combat to a tired tedium. NT, despite ALL the complaints lobbed at Heavenly Sword, obviously have not learned from their mistakes, probably because they're too much of egomaniacs to learn from such things. And Antoniades' claims that 30 FPS is somehow BETTER than DMC 60 fps standard just shows how much of a moron he is

It is nice to see that there are a lot of people thinking alike :) .   And yes they are egomaniacs.....just see how the "new dante" resembles Tateem Antoniades  ¬_¬.
