Heavenly_King said: I hate combat stances in games!!! This game is like the spiritual sequel of Heavenly Sword FU%%%%%%%%%KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! (that is why dante looks like a HOMO, they want him to resemble Nariko lol) Light stance for aerial combat; dark stance (the one with the red axe) for ground combat.....in video it may look nice, but I dont really think it would work well if we play it. I hate trying to be like an octopus while doing hit-combos...."the enemy is glowing blue change to LIGHT stance, and combo him, now glows red change stance again to DARK stance and continue hitting him; ......now is glowing purple so you must continue pressing L1 and L2, and try to continue hitting the evil dude, while pressing "O" to juggling him in the air with your guns" WTF?! I said this based on my experience with Heavenly Sword (but at least we can jump now RE LOL). I still think this game should be called different and NOT DMC. For an action it is looking quite interesting, but for a DMC game it just sucks (so far). |
Combat stances CAN work in games, but DMC 4 did them SO much better thant Heavenly Sword did. And that was just really to give the player more option instead artificial attempts at "strategy" that shows NT still doesn't grasp the idea of action games. Then again. they obviously HATE being a games developer so I doubt they understand anything about gaming.

In DMC 4 there were no combat stances, but COMBAT STYLES. Dante could change styles on the fly and was really a bit difficult to master because of all the crazy things he could do. The great thing about the styles was that they were optional, you could use only 1 style or the 4 and you could still kick A$$. But in this game (as in Heavenly Sword) the bad thing is that they force you to adopt the stances in order to beat some enemis because if not they are invulnerable; and that is just lame. If some hits can be blocked then block, there is no need to change stance to block the FUCK!&G blow, if he is showing his back just hit him, there is no need to change to another stance to deal some damage. Just as you said Ninja theory doesnt grasp the idea of action games, and their idea of being "strategic" is just really lame, because it frustates the player, because we cant do what we want. In the end the mechanic in action games isavoid getting hit and hit the enemy hard in the balls lol XD, and not what ninja theory plans to do sadly.
