Which would be a mistake.

Wii gets the craziest boosts in the holidays my friend. The only way it'll lose if the other two do really well or the wii gets so low that it'll be impossiablr to recover by the holidays. The wii at worst could behind first place by 25k to 30k for me to consider myself wrong by october. Its less then 10k on the week ending of Auguest 6th

Not really, the gap each xmas is getting smaller and smaller, Japan it'll be lucky to clear 400k over November and December combined. America 360 will take (with a price cut it'll storm it) and EMEAA wii will slightly beat out X360, although it hasn't thrashed it there this year either.
If all you have is 'oh well past xmas's Wii has catapulted to 1st, then you're not going to get very far. Nothing is set and stone and Wii has fallen far harder this year than last year, and that's with a price cut.

Week on October 30th 360 213,045 Wii 278,973
Week ending of December 25th Wii 1,458,016 360 1,114,283
Amount of increase Wii 1,179,043 360 901,238
See what I mean? And 360 had kinect. The wii only had bundles and Donkey kong. Expect the 360 to win with a price cut at best. and that's if they come with one.

360 had pretty severe supply issues, whereas Nintendo had the opposite.
Q1 shipments
360 - 2.7 Wii - 1.37
Not to mention that was last year.
|
Shrinking the big picture huh ? Sales so far this year Wii - 5,078,632 360 - 4,983,091
At best it will take 5 to 10 weeks to close that gap since 360 is beating wii right now. Though by then it'll be late Semptember to Early October. In like a week or two the holiday season starts. The only way 360 can win is with a price cut. unless kinect for some unknown reason sells systems again and that's if nintendo doesn't do bundles like last year

I don't need to shrink any picture. Despite a price cut Wii is back to 3rd WW, despite 360 not having had one for 3 years now. Shipments 360 is ahead over 1.4 million, and will likely outship it this Q and the holiday Q (given the stats I gave in a previous post about MS undershipping last Q4 and Nintendo overshipping)
So MS are likely to win 4 Q's in a row and not beat them? lol
Also when Wii was adjusted down 800k a few weeks ago, none of it was from this year, which looks like perhaps it should have been (just my opinion) given NPD show a 770k gap alone without other Americas, wheras we show a 500k gap
