Since the troll-whisperer has put in a fair amount of work to this, let me add a bit more historical context for the American market (US only):
Relative pacing in the USA for Wii, X360, and PS3 vs. PS2 and each other:
Essentially, Wii has pretty consistently been 6m - 8m ahead of the PS2 pace for the last 2.5 years, while X360 has reversed its trajectory of falling further and further behind PS2 in the USA but has been pretty stable at about 6m behind the PS2 pace for around a year now.
