Thank you for the info. I don't see why Reggie would have to deflect at all, developers already say its more powerful and they don't even have final kits. I'm pretty sure EA was refering to the PC version of BattleField3 I don't know why they would even bother talking about it being as powerful as the 360 as thats a given. But again EA never said PC version so I can't assume. As for THQ this is great news and again proves the WiiU will be alot more powerful then the PS3. But maybe not drastic enough for Reggie to claim WiiU will be more powerful. In the end I'm hoping Nintendo has some horsepower up their sleeves because I don't think a last gen console will sell again next gen as well as Wii did this gen! |
He would need to deflect as he as a business man probably has no idea of the actual capabilities of the system, and was just repeating the company line of "the Wii U is HD now just like you wanted" if you pay attention of everything that came out of Nintendo about the Wii U's graphics it was all it's HD, it can match PS360 etc.
Also John Riccitiello was in context talking about how the Wii U was offering them the ability to do everything the PS3 and 360 could do, he was talking about how the online capabilities of the Wii U would allow them to do everything they could do on the other consoles now unlike with the Wii and at the same time mentioned that the Wii U could run Battlefeild 3. There was no indecation he was doing anything but reiterating that the Wii U could do anything the PS360 could, and also as PC games are scalable to the hardware it is more than possible for the PC version to look and run the same as the consoles anyway so is again meaningless.
And given Darksiders past history with the PC and the fact that there has been no indecation the PC version of 2 is doing anything significantly better than the console versions and the fact that all evidence is that games are going to be 720p on Wii U it probably just means that the Wii U has more RAM and supports higher resolution textures (most quick console to PC ports up the resolution of textures at least a bit) which would match up with what gearbox said about Aliens using a higher texture resolution than the PS360 versions and the spec rumours saying that the Wii U had a total of 1GB of RAM. And given that nintendo is pretty desprate to please 3rd parties and the most common complaint devs have of the PS3 and 360 is lack of RAM makes sense. But will probably just mean the Wii U games look like PS360 games with sharper textures.
