Nintendo systems, including 3DS, are always different, and they enjoy the huge benefit of some of the strongest exclusives. The only risk is surrendering the leadership to PS Vita, or most likely, surrendering some market share to it, but keeping the leadership. But 3DS won't die killed by Vita, as Rol wrote, the only one that can kill Nintendo systems is Nintendo itself. This will be true as long as Nintendo exclusives remain strong.
