I don't know what makes OP think that the 3D feature is unwanted. I think its brilliant and adds to the immersiveness. So do a lot of people who play the 3DS.
Its just as Roma said, the 3DS is overpriced and doesn't have any software that is worth purchasing on it. The first issue is being resolved, the second issue is going to be resolved this fall, by when the 3DS will have at least a solid library of first party games, and hopefully a few good 3rd party games as well.
