people can't seem to grasp how big a 35million gap really is. The wii isn't going to magically selling nothing when the wii u comes out. Their prices alone means they target different audiences.

I would say both consoles have a 1 in 3 chance of passing the wii in their strongest region.

While I don't think PS3 will pass Wii WW, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets relatively close (within 5-10 million). And while I don't think Wii will simply stop selling once Wii U comes out I don't think it will be around for too long afterwords. As I mentioned above, I'm thinking it will be out of production by late 2013 or early 2014. It simply doesn't have the SW support necessary to keep it going. One of its only 3rd party exclusives just went multiplat (Just Dance) and it looks like Kirby and Skyward Sword are going to be its firt-party swan songs. After them the ONLY major release on the horizon is Dragon Quest X.
