^Didn't the DS get a crappy first year too? so 3DS ^^

Yeah, but something must be happening behind the curtain, because if it was the same scenario as the DS, nintendo would have not made a price-cut so soon.   Maybe a lot of retailers have stopped placing orders for the system, who knows.

Behind the curtain, what's happening (and it's only visible to intelligent people), is that the 3DS was priced almost 100$ more than the DS. It cost definitely more than the DS to manufacture and ship (the DS sold at a profit at 150 US fyi). So maybe that's why the price-cut is coming so soon? Maybe it has to do with the price, maybe? you think? behind the scenes?

So you are saying that because the 3DS costs more to manufacture and to ship, than the DS, they making a price-cut???  Does it makes sense to you?? Inteligent people says ilogical things now?? lol O_o.   Jokes aside,  what I was referring by behind the curtain is that Nintendo obviously knows something most of gaming sites dont know yet (and we neither); and they are trying to fix that by the changes they are making in the price.  It is logical to expect less sales of the 3DS due to the higher price (and no games by the way), but something really wrong must be going if they need to make a price-cut so soon.    Sales wise it is selling similar to the DS in the 1st year, and considering how the DS began to sell later, it would seem you dont need to worry about sales.

Even the PS3 didnt have a price cut 3 months later, and that was because the PS3 at launch required lots of money to ship and manufacture, so they couldt afford a price-cut until Sony made a system revision.   By what you are saying about the costs of manufacture for 3DS, anyone would expect them to wait a bit longer before a price cut, but they didnt and that could mean they are desperate to prevent something from happening.
