He's going from a market perspective. I don't even know if he likes those games or not, but one thing I know is that for now he's arguing from a business point of view, not a fan point of view. He's saying that if 3DS doesn't follow the pattern of DS offerings (i.e. 2D platformers, non-game games, brain games, art games, horse games, dog games, lottery games and everything you can turn into a game), then it won't be a success. I don't disagree with him, I just disagreed with the fact that he required these to be sequels. Nobody needed those games when the DS game out, yet they bought the thing, I don't see it being any different this time. Then again, I wouldn't encourage it as it would be a tougher challenge then just continuing past series. However, I don't think that purely will work either, as people tend to get sick of the old and look for the new. (That's probably why Nintendogs + Cats didn't sell so well, at least not as well as its predecessor). A good mix will be good, and Nintendo will brand the 3DS as for both casual and core, they've already started doing so, they will continue that trend. Maybe they aren't doing it perfectly just yet, but they will succeed, I have no doubt. Same goes for the Wii U. |
yea i couldn't see myself buy Nintendogs + Cats anyway lol.
agreed
since Rol is talking from a business perspective i'm no longer needed even though that's my feild of study. stay cool
