I guess the best case scenario for some user on this site is if the WiiU actuallly has a great third party support but ends up in a distant 2nd or lower in terms of sales in that generation. This will make Nintendo learn that its console's success are not dependent on third parties at all.
Another good scenario if WiiU has the same horrible ratio of 1 good third party game for every 1000 bad third party game as the Wii but ends up selling significantly more than Microsoft or Sony or even combined because of WiiU's abudant "evergreen" first party games.
If the WiiU does sell the most in its generation, it would be interesting to see which scenario would occur, if anyone I listed would occur.
I personally don't know if Nintendo needs third party or not to succeed or if Nintendo should pursue them, but I do understand why some users think that third parties and Nintendo are not exactly bffs.
Edit: Actually, Nintendo does not need third parties to succeed because the Wii is an example of that. I wonder if Nintendo should pursue third parties by doing the things third parties want them to do rather than doing the things they would want to do themselves to have a console sell even greater than their Wii console.
