This is what happens when people jump the gun on the forums. Now this thread will languish for a week.

As a side note the numbers are close enough when Nintendo's financials come out it could really be any week in January.

As a side not great job ioi and the the mods for tracking this meteoric rise.

20 million is unimportant but it does mean that gamecube totals will probably be crushed this fiscal year. More than 3 times the speed is pretty impressive.

I did say it wasn't a lock for this week in the OP...but I suppose you didn't read that or just wanted to be snide anyways.

Either way the point wasn't to be the first thread on the topic it was to be the only thread on the topic. Every time one of these milestones comes up we get 10+ threads on the issue all over the place, if we get one early and the mods lock the rest we can stop the clutter.

@tokill,

As I said last week, my issue a month ago was with the idea that (I thought) you were saying they were going to completely (or nearly completely) shut off supply post-holidays. I agreed a month ago and last week that they would likely have air shipped units to get them to the US to help with demand for the holidays.

IIRC you recently said you were expecting sales to be at 120k for most of January. I thought it would be lower which is why I pointed out the average weekly sales throughout last year, to wich you replied that you were accounting for increased production. So now here we are, both of us off on one thing and right about another.
