I guess they can replace the hard drives in the 1++ million systems sitting in Sony warehouses. This won't be a new SKU, just an update to the $599 model. OR it's a typo. Any more sources for this news?

That would be incredibly expensive, not only would they have to throw out 1 million 60GB hard drives, but they'd have to send people over to open up the PS3, replace the hard drive, and close it up.

etter off selling them all then replacing with 80GB model

It's probably as expensive to make a 60gb drive as it is a 80gb so they might as well, as hard drives are one of the few things you can upgrade, without making previous versions redundant (you cannot replace graphics cards for instance), so as long as devs know that they may only have a 20gb system, they can still make use of it, plus if that extra 20gb is really needed, the PS3 can be upgraded with external hard-drives anyway, so an upgrade to 8ogb doesn't really hurt anyone, unlike with the xBox 360 Elite, where the addition of so many extra features may have seriously annoyed earlier adopters. It looks to me like a natural progression just like with PCs. For instance our PC (soon to be replaced) came with a 40gb HD. We then got a 80gb HD making total space 120gb, then we recently got a 250gb one making space 330gb, which is considerably bigger than 40gb!

does the x360 support 1.3 HDMI?

no

a 250gig  HDD costs just 60$ in NCIX.

a 120gig HDD in x360 elite would cost almost the same as the 20gig HDD.

does the x360 come with a next gen drive?

no.  HD DVD addon is 200$ +tax and is also an inferior format.

the elite contains the same watered down xenon.

50$ fee for yearly online subscription with text achievements.

lol

the 80gig ps3 contains teh same thing as the 60gig but it is $120 cheaper. ( 690$(tax incl)   vs 573$(tax incl)).
