I'd say the public DOES love him. Chris Nolan has four, count them, four movies in IMDB's Top 100 (TDK, Inception, Memento and The Prestige), and Batman Begins is in the top-125. In history, I think there are only three or maybe four directors that are as phenominal as he has ever been - Spielberg, Cameron, Kubrick, and Hitchcock.
