You have no evidence for that, it was luck. If Nintendo would have bundled Mario Kart instead it could have been just as lucky.

As long as we are starting to talk about NSMB Wii in the same league as other games that have had a bigger effect on sales than a measly $50 price cut then I've made my point.

The 'luck' stuff was an irrational side debate that should probably be left outside.

Your point? You said NSMB was the biggest system seller ever. Your "point" there doesnt stand at all with no proof or "evidence" as you said to back it up.

I was including the DS version too. 2D Mario is the biggest system seller ever. Don't forget 2D Mario was available on the virtual console at launch.

NSMB Wii outsold Wii Sports in Japan, where Wii Sports wasn't bundled. Outsold Fit and Mario Kart too and completely trounces PS3's 'system sellers' combined (MGS, Resi, Gran whatsitsname).

That's enough cherrypicking for now, I think we all agree that a new 2D Mario on the home console after 20 years is huge and has more impact than a $50 price cut.
