Nintendo wanted to show the game industry for the last time that NSMB Wii, SOFTWARE, can sell more consoles than a $100 price cut on the 'hottest' console ever made. What this means is that if they had half of Nintendo's talent they could all be billionairres on 2 or 3 games.

Edit: Those 2 or 3 games don't include Xenoblade or Pandora's whatever.

This price cut  yes, last price cut, no. I'm on the side of the fence that believes the price cut pushed sales for Wii that holiday and NSMB was just the game to get at the time, not that NSMB actually caused millions to go out and get a wii. This price cut has been pretty fail though, I'd say most big games, Halo 3, MGS4 ect have had more HW boosting impact than this Wii price cut

You don't agree that only Nintendo and Activision have the talent to make 10-25M sellers on a consistent basis?

'Talent' it's nothing to do with talent, always clinging onto that huh? If you mean capabilites to appeal to a wide casual audience (relatively for MW/COD) then yeah, Nintendo has that in the bag
