I would agree that they'll eventually replace the 60gb model with an 80gb model. It's not so much mass production as it is that HDDs are so expensive to produce (the unit), but the extra space is relatively cheap (in the US, I paid $60 for a 80gb not too long ago, for $20 more, I could get more than twice the space). Therefore, Sony is trying to get the most cash out of each system by offering a 80gb model - which is the same thing as MS is doing with the elite (as we all know for $180, you can get ALOT better HDD than a 120gb model most anywhere).
