I just don't understand the rationale behind the argument that most of the PS2 users are sitting around waiting for the PS3 to drop in price so that they can upgrade to a PS3. We were PS2 users, but upgraded to a Wii60 combo. If the vast majority of PS2 users are that price conscious, then having no PS2 BC in the cheapest box is a huge error on Sony's part.

My point exactly. I think that's like saying buying a PS3 will be a hereditary trait. No, most of us are looking at this from all angles. And I have yet to see a PS3 owner say this 'Before you take the plunge, think long and hard about this. You are spending at least $500 for a system - and you better have good reasons for why you are doing it ...
