It's nice to hear some good news nowadays.

I'm sure the Sun can more than fill the gap of crappy newspapers that fill the minds of the public with sensationalist garbage with minimal relation to reality.

I hope you dont mind me saying this but..... WHAT POMPOUS BOLLOCKS!  Who the hell are you to tell people what they can and cant read...  The last guy that felt that way invaded Poland.

We want as many diverse and different papers of all types in circulation as possible.

God help us if we end up with just the Guardian and the Independent... we'd all vanish up our own arseholes of apologetic liberalism.

Listen to what the VAST majority of level headed journalists and other observers are and will be saying about this... they wont be anywhere near as judgemental as you and will rightly mourn the loss of a national institution of over 150 years.

ONLY Rebekah Brookes should have faced repurcussions.  Why have ordinary workers who werent even there when this was going on had to lose their jobs?

A bit of maturity wouldnt go a miss here you know

As a matter of fact, I do mind you saying that.

I don't see why I should accept the fact that the two most popular papers in this country (one of which is fortunately now defunct) write such garbage as they do. Freedom of speech is one thing. Outright lying to your readers, and hacking phones to steal information, is quite another. I'm happy with the Mail and the Independent's existence; I just think they write complete rubbish.

As for the whole unemployment thing, all of these people are still brilliant writers. Now they can move on to writing real news. The News of the World's name has always been synonymous with tabloidal, sensationalist nonsense, and now it's also synonymous with phone hacking. Not a nice place to be.
