Imagine chess with numbers, terrain, weapons, and a storyline. Any excuse for a lord to go galavanting off into the continent fighting a druid makes a FE game. They're good. You know, there's plenty of ROMS and emus out there for you if you ever want to try...

He's pretty much got it right, TBH. But it REALLY doesn't do it justice until you play it. If you find one on the cheap, then I'd definitely reccomend getting it. Well worth a look...
