Another example, although it is not as good, is the list of best selling games this generation.

For consoles only (excluding pack ins and Wii play), people seem to think that this is the list:

In its first 60 weeks Wii sold 19,8M (http://vgchartz.com/hwtable.php?cons%5B%5D=Wii®%5B%5D=Total&start=39040&end=39460)

That's only 1,2M difference. The Wii will have to keep going for 8 years to beat the Ps2!

 Good post! Don't expect to exchange pleasantries with the Wii fans, however... And remember, the PS2 was not available outside of Japan till 8 or 9 months after, it did devastating numbers in Japan!
