This will be more like a nice story than an accurate prediction. That is my first prediction 
By 2020, the entire Arab World will have been through revolution. Both the Islamist dictators and those friendly to the West will have been kicked out and/or executed. An Arab Republic will begin to form. Around this time, if not much earlier, the European Union will collapse, its lack of accountability and excessive bureaucracy eventually causing its demise. NATO will be greatly strengthened as an alliance.
By 2030, we will have discovered cold fusion. With a cheap, clean and efficient source of energy finally created, demand for oil will plummet. The Arab nations will be hit extremely hard. The union from the 2020s will collapse, and a new one will form, under a powerful dictator, strongly opposed to the West. Two things could happen in the West at this stage. The first is that a truly brilliant leader emerges and starts a new golden age. The second is that an enormous revolution erupts and de-seats the entire ruling class.
By 2040, there will likely be some sort of cold war between the Arab world and NATO, with China and India looking on amused before finally being forced to pick sides. Both will ally with NATO, whilst the South-East Asian nations, Russia and South America ally with Arabia. South Africa will ally with NATO, but will swiftly be overrun by the Arabian-allied central African states. Effectively, two superstates have been created.
By 2050, a Cold Fusion nuclear bomb will have been developed. It will be considerably more powerful than any other weapon ever tested. It will never be used. At this point, tensions grow too great, and an actual war erupts.
By 2060, at least a billion people will have been killed by this war. Both sides want it to end, but neither will surrender. Suddenly, two revolutions will take place at the same time, one in each country. They will all have been orchestrated by one man. The war finally ends. The man is crowned Global Emperor and rules as an absolute dictator, but the strange thing is that life is better for humanity than it has ever been
