3DS SD card - does copying files to bigger SD card transfer all data?

ah using the old card is probably the same as going back in time....resets the date and loses all your play data (not your saves, nor your coins) (oops, did I just give away my unlimited coin trick? yes i've had a 3DS for 2 years now...)
