Sure those other games are repetitive, but folklore has you play each level twice, once with Ellen and once with Keats,with barely any difference between both characters, and as far as i can tell, i think Keats really is just a side character, he just follows Ellen uncover her true self , while he looks around in the distance being all "i'm a freelance journalist lulz", i don't even know why hes in this game.
as for the storyline its Folklore's best trait, the more you play it the more the story becomes complex, the storyline is the reason why i kept playing the game to the end, not the gameplay, and also the fact that the creators are very inspired Faerie mytholigies that i've read a lot in books (great books i might add)
with that said i don't think the game deserves a 9.5/10 , thats just plain wrong, also the fact that most people think the game is an RPG is also wrong, its more like DMC than an RPG.
