It might but it's very hard to get people to cough up money for stuff once they have gotten used to get it for free or almost free, even if what you are providing is 20 times better than what they got for free. 

Going after those folks by trying to provide something similar to what they are used won't work because of those price issues. You're going to have to provide them something that blow their mind away and might convince them to actually give away their cash...
