i would say yes. If its HD that means PS3 and 360 those combined you have an install base of 104 mil not that anywhere near as much people will get my game.

Hear me out oni.

undoubtedly there are some ps360 owners just as there are pswii and 360wii and ps360wii owners.  but you are trying to take this argument waay too far.

what you are looking for is the "active" userbase which no one knows exactly.  However, the best way to gain insight into that number is to not look at hardware but rather look at software sales.  the wii does not have 50% of the sales LTD (which is already putting the wii in a better than reality perspective because every wii every sold has bundled software which is not true for the ps3 or 360).  if you look at more recent years (2011 and 2010) the wii's software market share is much lower than the wii hardware market share.

I'm not taking it way too far, I'm just sayin'. And of course we're looking at software sales when thinking about the more meaningful measure (active base). When you look at software sold, it's squarely divided between HD system. That's what I would add, not the hardware sold. That's how I got to my 60M figure. I took a total of 2M games sold per hit on average, and multiplied it by 10 for the number of different segments I've noticed the hits coming from (fighters, shooters, RPGs, ...). In other words not all gamers buy the same game.

We very much agree, I mean if you understood my past posts you would have picked up on that, though take that lightly I don't expect to read all posts with a magnifying glass :)

i'm really confused by that part but i'm glad we agree. xD
