How many hardcore gaming experinces are actually local multiplayer nowadays?

If the graphic don't make at least a mildly noticeable upgrade from the current gen to the WiiU then there's no real need for me to jump onto the WiiU at launch. The same reason I wasn't sold on 360 till they really started improve the graphics a year or two in.
