The answer to the thread is it depends on the developer/publisher. I should have divided my post in 2, since the second apart is about what you posted in regards to the interview. As for "step backwards", I haven't played a game with WiiU controller so I can't comment.

please watch the video I linked above. It's just a dual analog shooter, no matter how you look at it. I'm sure you've played those... and most people think it is an inferior setup to wiimote/wiimote plus. Just look at the cumbersome, jumpy motions they player's reticule makes when in first person mode... that's not even possible with pointer controls..
