Come on gumby, it's just like the Wii, of course there will be software made just for the motion plus and other's made for the standard wiimote. They are giving developers all the options.

It'd be best to force people to upgrade to motion plus, but instead of a hardware limitation let them do it with software (still want more motion plus games).

You may be right, but I can't imagine Nintendo making an effort to support the regular Wii remote unless they have to. Also, this excerpt from Iwata Asks is behind some of the ambiguity regarding whether or not WiiU games would work without motion-plus. It can be read as if Iwata is correcting Miyamoto, or clarifying, I don't know for sure.

Once again let me just restate that it's not this issue in particular which has me disappointed in general, rather a large collection of issues, not the least of which is the fact that it seems Wii is dead, and any motion-plus support at all will probably be moved to WiiU... To me it feels like Nintendo has not delivered on their promise to consumers, and are now asking me to pay up again in order to get what I thought I was getting the first time...
