if you are referring to the information under "system details", then all that says is that the console supports wiimotes... it doesn't say all games will.
Furthermore, some of the information there conflicts with the recent Iwata asks interview, in which it is said that regular wiimotes won't work with WiiU.

If you want to know if a certain game uses Wiimotes wait until the publisher/developer announces it. Its probably WiiU games that can't use non M+ Wiimotes, since WiiU can play Wii games it wouldn't make sense if it couldn't use normal Wiimotes for Wii games that don't use M+.

I agree with you that Wii games will most likely still work with regular wiimotes. Regarding everything else, I think you're missing the point of the thread. If you look at the video in question on youtube, it just seems like a huge step backwards...

The answer to the thread is it depends on the developer/publisher. I should have divided my post in 2, since the second apart is about what you posted in regards to the interview. As for "step backwards", I haven't played a game with WiiU controller so I can't comment.
