Doing a quick search on the net, I found 6 inch touch screens for as little as $20 in lot sizes around 100 ... In other words, depending on what the capabilities of the touch screen are, touch screens can be very affordable. Hypothetically speaking, if Nintendo used a touch screen with a resolution of 480x320 they might be able to sell a controller for $50 or less while still turning a profit; at the same time, if Nintendo decided that they needed a full 720p screen it would likely be $100 (or more) for each controller.
