Yea, I was the same with Lost Planet 1. That game really got me into online multiplayer and made me a better shooter player overall. KZ3 has rank bonuses, but just from hype Halo and CoD are bigger online. By no means is quality better, I love KZ, just I think CoD and Halo are a bit simpler.

kz3 has more than just rank bonuses, in game ribbons, exoskelotons, jetpacks, missions etc etc....I'm not gonna get into this sale argument tbh...if it sells well not halo well but well, then I have no complaints whatsoever...there are plenty of ppl to play with online all the time so my experience has been nothing but awesome. I just wanted to point out what you said absolutely made no sense and to be frank..a lie. Let's just leave it at that..

Well lets just say it's not hyped as much for casual gamers as Halo or CoD. I think not being the star title in a fall lineup makes a big difference to overall sales.

again I never did or want to get into the sales debate, as long as it's doing fine and have enough players to play online with, that's all that matters to me cuz I'm having a blast with it...it's one of the best MP experiences of this gen

anywho what I wanted to point out, I did. might wanna not say such things in the future if you don't have a clue about it

Now that I actually have Killzone 3 and played a reasonable amount of time online, I stand by my original statement. Killzone 3 online is not that different then Killzone 2.

Sorry for comming back to this so late, my computer crashed last month, and it was rather nice not having a computer for a bit. Back now, and I just wanted to say this.

Killzone isn't as hyped as Halo or Call of Duty. Like Battlefield, it stuggles to define itself as a leading multiplayer experience. Halo and CoD defined themselves as multiplayer kings early on. Even if Killzone 3 is as good as Halo: Reach online, it still won't sell half as well.

Similar to how Ford Mustangs sell roughly 4x as many cars as Chevy Cameros. Mustangs have been the leading muscle car for a long long time, the Camero needs to be a lot better to even match sales, and it has to be like that for a long time, not just 1 generation.

Also ontop of that CoD and Halo are simpler gamers, which offer more online content, and more reasons to come back. Yea Killzone 3 has classes and weapon unlocks and stuff, but nothing as detailed as the perk system in CoD, or the killstreak bonus's. Same goes with Halo.

Killzone is fun as hell, but it doesn't sell to the masses because it's not the multiplayer defining experience, nor is it as easy to get into, nor is it as balanced. Ever wonder why no one plays that map with the mechs? It's just not fun when 1 guy in a mech kills everything. At least in Halo's Hemorige(?) map Wraiths can still be destroyed modestly easily, and the map is only selected for large scale battles.
