There's no doubt that DLC has been abused to press extra cash out of games where it wasn't justified, but that doesn't mean DLC is bad.
Games like Burnout Paradise and LittleBigPlanet show how DLC is done right, and there's no reason why Nintendo couldn't create extra content for a game after it has been released.
