1. Other than arms contracts that they paid for, what help did the Jews get?
2. How did the Jews "demolish the native population" when they were fighting a force overwhelmingly comprised of non-Palestinian Arabs, the vast majority of Palestinians having left thanks to Arab leaders encouraging them to do so and also a decided lack of enthusiasm at the prospect of helping yet another foreign country conquer their land? They were smart enough to know that if Egypt conquered Palestine, they would be no more in control of their own destiny than they were under the British or Ottomans.
