The Mamluks, the Ottomans, and the British all permitted Jewish immigration whether or not the Arabs liked it because, as a ruled people, they had no say so in the matter. The Jews only owned 6% of the land before the war and 75% afterwards, so there, then: they took it by force in a defensive war. No, I want immigrants to assimilate, not to whine and bitch and claim the land they immigrated to as their own. I am not splitting hairs, because I honestly can't care about either Israel or Palestine, however if a group of immigrants use outside help to get their land, it doesn't really mean it should be theirs.
