You realize that lebron didn't just leave because he wanted "an easier path", he left because the cavaliers' management did absolutely NOTHING to help make the team more competitive, and absolutely NOTHING to convince lebron to stay..
Absolutely, categorically false in every sense of the word. The Cavs always were paying the Luxury tax year after year, bringing in players that Lebron wanted and rubber stamped. The whole team was built around Lebron James. Additions like Shaq, Mo Williams, Antwan Jamison all were solid role players brought in to aid Lebron James. The Cavaliers fired Mike Brown to appease Lebron and couldn't get any solid coaching candidate because of how non-committal Lebron was.
To make matters worse, Lebron James always played coy with his contract issues. Never giving the Cavaliers a firm decision before hand. How can you build a team around a player who constantly tells you, you have to wait until his contract expires to figure out his decision.
Your take is a very simple minded one. With the way the Salary cap is structured, it's not like the Cavaliers could just drop every player they didn't want with no consequence. They actually were very active in clearing cap room to bring in a player like Chris Bosh (On top of Mo Williams, Shaq, Jamison, etc).
MIAMI on the other hand did the exact opposite to wade, with riley PROMISING WADE at least 1 all star on his team if he signed with miami, and they managed to convince bosh to come to miami.. Miami named the entire county "WADE COUNTY" in tribute to d wade.. and they didn't boo the fact wade said he was looking at the bulls at a probably choice.. and WADE brought a championship to miami..
No one booed Lebron in Cleveland until he went on National Primetime TV to rub it into the faces of a town who did everything in their power to build his fame, celebrity and prowess in their power. People would be upset had he left, but would get over it had he not made a spectacle of the whole issue but instead he opted to do that (And has since said he regretted doing in that fashion).
Let's also realize that while on the Cavaliers, those teams actually had better records year after year than the ones posted by this years 'dream team' Heat. How can that be if Lebron was on such an untalented roster and now he is on such a star-studded roster.
it shows how two faced and ignorant people can be, considering lebron did nothing wrong at all.. what would you want him to stay with the same team that has by far the worst record in the nba without one player?
You do realize the Cavaliers didn't lose just one player right? They lost several core players along with Lebron James (Shaq, Ilgauskus, Delonte West as well as injuries to Jamison and Williams) and an entirely new coaching staff. They aren't even remotely the same team as when Lebron played on the team.
He made the right choice, chances are that had he gone to chicago with wade, he wouldn't be as hated.. because it's chicago.. just like the d rose mvp argument, he clearly wasn't at all the best player in the nba this season, yet he won mvp..because he's in chicago.. same with new york..
D Rose clearly was the best player in the NBA this year. Now I know you're delusional. Lebron made the right choice to take the easiest path to the championship. (Something Jordan commented on saying he would have never done, because he was a competitor.) What Lebron did was show that he doesn't have the competitive spirit of a truly great player.
winning one championship in miami is better than winning none at all with the cavaliers..
Earning one championship in Cleveland is better than coasting to some in Miami.
