No, in first person mode you dodge by shaking the Wii remote.  Shooting is done with the A button.

are you sure of this?? I don't remember anything about shaking the Wii remote in Other M. I'm pretty sure dodging in first person is the same as in third person, i.e. using the D-pad. Tilting the remote upwards to face the ceiling also works for concentrating in both points of view...
