Should I get the GC version of the original Resident Evil game?

I'd be picking up a gamecube controller / memory card for the Wii pretty soon just for this game and the others in the series. It seems that it's hard to get an original Gamecube controller, so I might have to go with one of the clones, feel free to suggest one if you know about those :)

 

 

since you never played the series why dont you start off by playing RE0 also on gamecube and is a great game,then after that play1,2,3,4 though 2 and 3 arent very good on the cube the graphics are like n64
