Making huge sales with x-tuple remakes of the same game (COD is basically MW2 again), gamers (consumers) are definitely focused on raw fun, all the time, for all segments of the market. Actually, yes. The systems are continuing some clear hit games, but Nintendo is not for the Wii, or even that much for the 3DS (just a few follow ups to hits, and Nintendogs Plus Cats didn't even replicate the success of the previous game).
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
