Up to this point in 2010:

The Wii had outsold the PS3 by almost 1m and in turn the PS3 had outsold the 360 by 1.3m

 

Up to this point in 2011:

The PS3 has outsold the 360 by a vastly reduced 580k and the 360 has now outsold the Wii by almost 100k.

 

Marketshare in 2010 to end of April:  Wii: 42.6%, PS3: 31.8%, 360: 25.6%

Marketshare in 2011 to end of April:  PS3: 37.6%, 360: 31.6%, Wii: 30.8%

but on the flip side, ps3 had sold more going into 2010 than 360 because of slim price cut effect, now 360 going into 2011 coming off slim price cut kinect and its 500k behind. which makes ps3 more impressive.

that tells me up to a certain point more people will buy ps3`s than 360`s, its entirely sonys fault that they are in 3rd had they launched at 299 like im sure thier next console will it would have been enormous
