How did Sony not make any more money selling 150m consoles!!!! But at least they are making some money now, though the Japan issues won't have helped (something like 150,000 PS3s destroyed as well as many other less direct impacts)

just imagine what the losses during the ps3 era would be, if they were selling the ps2, and even the psp.

they were probably making tons off profit off ps2 (and good profit off psp) when ps3 launched which really helped soften the blow. even though that softened blow still, broke nearly eevery bone in the body, but body casts are better than caskets, i guess

And yeah, the PS3 seems a bit stupid in many many ways, but at least we got to play Uncharted
