I want to expand upon this.

I know Gears 3 weekly pre-orders will probably drop a bit next week, and then get significantly cut three weeks after that when the beta is over, but it could hold similar weekly pre-orders to Halo: Reach. Weather it does or not, this will be Gears of War's biggest opening week, and it will likely open to 3 million sales or greater. Gears 2 opened to 1.9 million, and looks like it will sell close to 7 million lifetime. Does this mean Gears 3 will be 360's next exclusive 10 million seller? I hope so, it deserves it.

BTW Gears 3 at 28 weeks had 4.5x as many pre-orders as Uncharted 3 at 28 weeks, and weekly increases were over 6x as great. I wonder how well UC3 will open compared to Gears 3.

Okay well in EMEAA Uncharted 3 will win no doubt as for Gears 3 I think there is something really wrong with these preoders. Of course it's gonna be big but VGC overtracked Gears 2 as well (2.1 million day 1) And Gears 3 is the only AAA exclusive out this year. I doubt this will open as much as Halo Reach I know that's impossible. 10 million LT is just going way to far. You expect this game to sell as much as Reach and GT5! Fix your prediction 

Uncharted 2 only had something like 200k pre-orders in Americas and <500k pre-orders worldwide. PS3 games don't tend to get as many pre-orders as 360 games, and even in EMEAA Gears 3 will likely see significantly more pre-orders then Uncharted 3. This, however, doesn't mean Gears 3 will outsell Uncharted 3 by as huge as the pre-order difference is.

Gears 3 is tracking significant pre-orders right now because pre-orders allow access to a three week long Beta. This is analogous to Halo 3: ODST sales jumping in May of 2009, for access to the Halo: Reach Beta.

Also Gears 3 is the biggest Gears yet, seeing it open to 3 million sales week one (1 million more then Gears 2) is very possible.

As for 10 million, I didn't predict Gears 3 will sell 10 million. I only stated the question, will it reach 10 million. It's a possibility as Gears 3 pre-orders are significantly higher then Call of Duty Black Ops and Halo Reach. Both Gears 1 and Gears 2 sold about 6 million units, and Gears 2 may end up with 7 million units lifetime. Assuming good press, reviews, and marketing, this means that Gears 3 could very likely break 8 million lifetime. I personally believe 8 million will happen, with an outside chance of 9 million. It won't be as big as Halo, but it might end up with lifetime sales figures close to GT5. Like you said, this is 360's biggest exclusive game, and with Infinity Ward all broken up, there might not be as impactful of a CoD title this year.
