Well I also put the sleep clause as a rule so that Sleep cannot be abused, especially in a 3v3 match. I mean, a sleeping Pokemon is pretty much a dead Pokemon (or set up fodder), especially in Black/White. Now when you switch out a sleeping Pokemon, the sleep meter resets back to 0 turns.
But yes, Darkrai is a cheap bastard. 
I mean, at least Breloom and Parasect were slow with their Spore... but Darkrai is a fast annoying dude. >_<
