Super Paper Mario was much different than any of the other Paper Mario games, humor and writing was still there (some might say a little too much writing) the game play changed up completely becoming action RPG rather than what the first two were, and Paper Mario 3D is in the normal style, so it's something to get really excited about.
Anyways since you got a Wii, you can find The Thousand Year Door for rather cheap, try it out.
