I don't really see what advantage Apple would get from hiring a former Nintendo PR executive, especially one in such a minor region as the UK...
Apple have yet to get a strong enough foothold in order to even have a chance of making games, or a games console, which will worry the big 3. This just seems like an unneccessary expense to me.
