LOL I've been to Japan!!!! AS well as dozen of other students who all agree with me. Besides I love Japan, that's why I'm studying it. but it's the cold hard truth that in comparison they are very racist. I didn't even think they were before, but ironically because I am studying Japanese culture you kinda find out that they actually are, maybe racist is the wrong word but they do have a lot of opinions about gaijins (means foreigner and is kinda used as a demeaning word) which are totally unfounded.

racist does seem like the wrong word because having a bunch of unfounded opinions on groups of people you've never met in person is pretty much par for the course.  That's why people think French people smell, Americans all love guns, and Asian people all have small penises (yes, even the women).

Yes, but next to unfounded opinions they do often look down on outsiders. It's the truth, I don't know why we should sugarcoat it???

I would say there's a difference between sugar coating their dislike of foreigners and not calling them xenophobic.  Especially using this supposed Xenophobia as an excuse for the 360's lackluster sales in the area.

It's kind of like if I wanted to say that 360's sell best in the US because Americans are stupid, and then in support of that I showed you how they perform poorly based on standardized tests for math and science.  Just because I can bring some support towards a conclusion doesn't mean I should insult an entire country of people just as an excuse for a console's sales.
