Personally I don't think that that's really essential to the review. Basically you just have a bunch of costumes for your characters (which is fairly standard), and if it doesn't really mean anything to the game, then why bother saying it? And the "value" that is added to the game with those costumes speaks more about how overpriced those costumes really are.

That Game Informer can't get their facts straight is something else of course.

Well when people review Smash Bros they generally discuss the various costumes for each character, then why would this be any different?  Short answer is it's simply not and the reviewers are not doing their jobs which is informing the reader.  I believe you've just gotten to used to these slack asses not reviewing with you in mind

I'm sorry but why in the hell did Smash Bros reviews mention various costumes?  It's easily the most meaningless part of the game.  I can totally see why a reviewer would not mention or simply forget that these alternate costumes weren't in the HD version because that's how pointless they are.

Writing a review is supposed to be telling the person every important thing you can think of about the game so they can make an informed decision, and how many alternate costumes the characters have is far far far down the list of important things to mention about a fighting game.  If you are trying to keep a review brief that would be the first thing I'd cut out.

edit: also adding in the review how it's 46 dollars of free DLC just makes you sound like a Capcom shill and legitimizes the idea that those costumes are worth 46 dollars instead of the rip off they truly are.
